Dear Colleagues
All staff are invited to a light breakfast on Tuesday 20th April to kick off the birthday celebrations. As it is lecture recess, and given the opportunity this provides to start the anniversary events for the week, I strongly encourage all staff to attend. Additionally, please join me at the video link-up between our campuses and locations at 10.00 am (EST).
Please find be below the location of the breakfast venues and then the video-conference.

The Queen's visit
We are now sharing some of our historic photos on Flickr. Our Special Collections Librarian, Bronwyn McBurnie, recently added a set of photos from the Queen's visit to establish JCU on April 20 1970. The photo below shows Queen Elizabeth granting royal ascent to the university. You can see the complete set of photos of the Queen's visit on our Flickr site.

Toga Ball
You can now buy your tickets for the Toga Ball on Friday 23 April.

This will be the most glamorous toga party JCU has ever seen, so start sewing your toga (or just buy one!)
