Inspired by the social media campaign to buy healthcare workers a coffee during the COVID-19 pandemic, A/Prof Wendy Li worked with the Townsville Chinese Club to initiate the “Shouting Townsville University Hospital Healthcare Heroes a Coffee” campaign.
The fundraising aimed to offer coffees to the frontline heroes who had worked hard to keep the community safe during the COVID-19 crisis. Nine hundred and twenty cups of coffee (worth $3,910) were given out to Townsville University Hospital staff.
