PhD research project: Investigating the impact of helicopter parenting on emerging adults: A multi-method approach.
C Keerthigha is a second-year PhD candidate at James Cook University Singapore. Her research project focuses on the prevalence, cause, and effect of helicopter parenting, particularly in the context of Singapore. Her project seeks to address two overarching research questions: (1) how does helicopter parenting impact youths; and (2) what motivates parents to continue practicing helicopter parenting from childhood to youthhood. She is currently working on two correlational studies and two mixed-methods studies which includes text mining of Reddit data to understand user experience with helicopter parenting.
