Official Centre Opening
More than 100 guests came to witness the official opening of the Centre on 2nd May 2018 in the staged area within the precinct. Celebrations commenced with Welcome to Bindal Country by Jenny Wyles, followed by a performance by the Wulgurukaba Walkabout Dancers. Messages were delivered by JCU's Provost Professor Chris Cocklin, Pro Vice Chancellor for Indigenous Education and Strategy Professor Martin Nakata, and Vice Chancellor Professor Sandra Harding. Guests enjoyed morning tea in the main foyer area.
