The event held at the Brisbane Campus and was sponsored by the Student Association saw five teams of students collaborating with industry professionals to dissect and solve a problem presented by Technology One, a leading software company.

To gain valuable insights into the problem, students interviewed Technology One experts, Dr Brad Long, R&D Director; Mr Peter Beahan, Software Security Director; Mr Nick Baker, System Architect along with Sarina Russo Group's CISO, Mr Miguel Flores Rubio. Over two days the team brainstormed innovative solutions and on the final day, presented their ideas to the judging panel, which comprised of Technology One professionals and JCU Brisbane’s Discipline Manager, Dr Paul Darwen. Team 1 impressed the judges with their creative approach to address the AI & Security challenge presented during the event.

JCU Brisbane continues to host Design Sprint events as such activities are valuable experiential learning opportunities that prepare students for real-world challenges.
