International Women’s Day Breakfast

Dr Louise Floyd was delighted and humbled that she was one of the keynote speakers at a major International Women's Day Breakfast in Townsville at The Ville Casino, before an audience of 400 people.  Her fellow speakers were Magistrate Vivianna Keegan and Brisbane Barrister Laura Reece.  The event was opened by Mayor Jenny Hill and chaired by Ros Miller of Preston Miller Lawyers.  The Magistrate spoke about the status of women in the law.  Laura spoke about her work on the Domestic Violence Task Force (coercive control).  Dr Floyd spoke about the new employment law positive duty to avoid discrimination along with the new law relating to domestic violence and work.
