VegeMap: Trapping pollen to learn about plants

VegeMap logo

Citizen science, teacher resources, real research.

VegeMap is an environmental science project about mapping the spread of pollen and vegetation across Australia.

Our researchers need your help to know how much and how far pollen can travel in today’s landscapes, which lets us better understand our nation's plant history and safeguard our future.

If you're keen to learn about the plant communities you're surrounded by, we need your help.

Have fun and find out more by exploring our webpages. Follow the menus, click on the buttons and watch our videos. We also have forms to get in touch and we’ll explain more about the project.

We think pollen is amazing, don't you?

JCU acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the Australian lands and waters where our staff and students live, learn and work. We honour the unique cultural and spiritual relationship to the land, waters and seas of First Australian peoples and their continuing and rich contribution to JCU and Australian society. We also pay respect to ancestors and Elders past, present and future.
