Description

This snake is found in open forest and woodland, it is rarely dangerous unless trapped. It preys on small birds, mammals and other reptiles. The body is shiny, light brown with dark brown irregular markings, which may appear as blotches, belly is greyish or cream. This species is one of a complex and until recently was also known as “Children’s python”, however this name is now more commonly applied to a western species in this complex (Antaresia childreni).
