Description

This cultivated cycad comes originally from Japan. The arching, pinnate fronds are deep green, arising from a short trunk. On the female plant the megasporophylls are packed in a tight feathery head; each megasporophyll bears 4-10 ovules or seeds. The male cone is compact, light brown and pineapple-shaped. Seeds are toxic.
