Summary of Project

The prevention of drowning is a complex and multifaceted challenge. There is a need for greater evidence around what works to prevent drowning including: better communication, uptake of swimming lessons / signage / CPR /lifejackets / etc, signage, impact of alcohol, competencies for swim teachers, environment / human interaction, looking at vulnerable populations, and much more.  Drowning is a leading cause of injury death globally and needs more work to help understand, elucidate solutions and look at their effectiveness.   There are a range of projects available, please contact Professor Franklin to express your interest.
