Applications for 2024 HDR scholarships for International Candidates are CLOSED
Applications for 2025 HDR scholarships for International Candidates close 31 August 2024
HDR scholarships do not include overseas health cover or relocation expenses.
International applicants must pay health cover prior to applying for a student visa. Overseas health cover for a single person undertaking a PhD is a one off up front payment of $4,306 and if accompanied by your partner or family is $18,194 and $32,788 respectively (as at January 2025).
International applicants should also understand living costs and other expenses in Australia. The Prepare to Arrive website contains useful links to help estimate your cost of living in Australia, including the cost of care and schooling for children.
When applying, applicants will be considered for all applications for which they are eligible. Applications will be ranked as per the Scholarship Scoring Procedure.

Duration: 3.5 years for PhD, 2 years for MPhil
Exclusions: Relocation expenses, Student Services and Amenities Fee.
Citizenship: International Students (excluding JCUS based)

Must commence: 1 January to 31 May 2025
Inclusions: Living allowance stipend $34,002.50 pa in 2024, tuition fees.
Duration: 3.5 years for PhD, 2 years for MPhil
Exclusions: Overseas health cover, relocation expenses, Student Services and Amenities Fee.
Citizenship: International Students (excluding JCUS based)

Duration: 3.5 years for PhD, 2 years for MPhil
Requirements: Must have a Primary Advisor based at JCUS and be based in Singapore for at least the first year of candidature.
Exclusions: Overseas health cover, relocation expenses, Student Services and Amenities Fee.
