Indigenous Students' Awards Night
Indigenous Students' Awards Night
Watch the video from our latest Indigenous Students' Awards Night to see the academic and personal achievements of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students across JCU's Colleges, the Diploma of Higher Education, and the Centre for Rural & Remote Health. You can also view our Awards Night page showcasing the image gallery, our award recipients and the Awards Night highlights from previous years.
Supervision of Indigenous Research and Higher Degree Researchers
Australian Council of Graduate Research talk with JCU's Indigenous Education and Research Centre
In this webinar discussion, experienced JCU advisors of Indigenous research students and projects share insights on enhancing both student and advisor capabilities. Professor Martin Nakata (Deputy Vice Chancellor, Indigenous Education & Strategy), Associate Professor Sana Nakata (Head of Research, IERC), and Dr Ailie McDowall (Senior Lecturer and HDR Convenor, IERC) also highlight how the IERC is supporting Indigenous higher degree researchers.
If you're interested in becoming a professional part of the IERC team, we have our:
- Indigenous students ambassador program where you can join our staff in promoting programs, and participating in networking opportunities and events; and our
- Indigenous Peer Assisted Learning (IPAL) tutoring program that builds and strengthens our students' academic capacity and capabilities. This relationship has proven to improve academic outcomes for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in all disciplines across all year levels.
Be part of the IERC wherever you are!
Support the IERC – Make a donation
Donating is a way you can share the commitment to help our Indigenous students effect social change through their education. Thanks to the scholarships made available to our students, our enrolment and graduation numbers continue to increase annually.
Play a crucial role in impacting the trajectory of individuals and their communities - make a donation today!
