Mabel Innes Prize for Lyric Verse

History of the prize

This prize was founded in 1962 by the late Mr A.H. Innes and was initially funded with annual donations, subsequently, a parcel of land was donated and sold to establish a fund. The prize is awarded to the candidate who has submitted the best poem, in the judges' opinion, of any length.
