History of the prize

This prize was founded in 2015 by Professor John McBride, College of Medicine and Dentistry and maintained with donations from Friends of Science in Medicine. It is awarded to the graduating student whose essay is judged to be of the highest standard in the Basic Sciences Essay of the year 6 assessment in the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree.
