History of the prize

This prize was founded in 2002 and is maintained with donations from the Rural Doctors Association of Queensland. The prize is awarded to the student enrolled in the College of Medicine who has demonstrated their abilities in rurally oriented subjects in their fourth year, and demonstrated interest in and commitment to a career in rural medicine.
