Sarina White Medal for Infection Control

History of the prize

This prize was founded in 2005 by the late Professor Rick Speare in memory of Sarina White, a remote area nurse and JCU staff member, who assisted in establishing the Postgraduate Certificate of Infection Control taught by the Anton Breinl Centre for Public Health & Tropical Medicine within the College of Public Health, Tropical Medicine & Rehabilitation Sciences. The prize is awarded to the graduating student who gains the highest grade point average (GPA) for the Postgraduate Certificate of Infection Control.
