RESEARCH

Dr. Junwei Bai gained his PhD (cum laude) in 2020 from James Cook University, under the supervision of Professor Alexandra Aikhenvald and R. M. W. Dixon of Language and Culture Research Centre at James Cook University.  He mainly works on Munya, which is a Qiangic language of the larger Tibeto-Burman family. His major research interests are Tibeto-Burman languages, Chinese grammar, Cognitive Linguistics and language typology. Aside from language documentation and analysis, he is also into techniques that facilitate language research and making language maps.
