Role

  • Manages the Collection Development Team
  • Supports the Library Technologies Specialist in the delivery of key University Library strategies and operations centered on the provision of a user-focused library collection that meets the needs of a global university
  • Facilitates the Library’s participation in the Council of Australian University Librarians consortia purchasing activities (CAUL CEIRC) as the Content Coordinator for James Cook University
  • Responsible for developing and leading the Library’s collecting strategies
  • Leads the evaluation, acquisition, purchasing, licensing and analysis of scholarly information resources library-wide that support the University’s learning, teaching and research needs
  • Coordinate the acquisition, management and access to information resources for teaching and research purposes
  • Negotiate the acquisitions and access to electronic resources including selection and evaluation of new resources, coordination of trials and license arrangements
  • Manage business relationships with vendors and suppliers of services and technologies utilised by the Library Services Directorate
  • As a member of the Library Leadership Team contribute to overall Library culture, planning and management endeavours
