Library Displays

Members of the University community wanting to promote JCU services on campus with a small display on the ground floor of the Eddie Koiki Mabo Library or the Cairns Campus Library are invited to submit a request online.

JCU Library welcomes displays that support the cultural and intellectual life of the University. The following guidelines apply to all displays in the libraries.

Guidelines

Members of the University community may submit a request online to have a small display erected in a space on the ground floor of the Library.

Requests are subject to the following conditions:

  • The display material falls into the following categories:
    • promotional banners
    • students’ work
    • Student Association/Student Clubs & Societies displays
    • a collection point for a student-led charity drive
  • The requestor provides information on:
    • display type and content,
    • preferred campus,
    • requestor/group contact details,
    • preferred display dates,
    • space requirements, and
    • maintenance schedule for charity collections.
  • The requestor accepts full responsibility for the installation, maintenance, and removal of the display at the agreed upon date and time.
  • Care must be taken not to damage structure or fabric of JCU Library buildings, e.g. walls.
  • Each display is presented to a high standard

JCU Library reserves the right to deny approval for display submissions that:

  • are of an unacceptable quality
  • may disrupt the business of the Library
  • may impede Library clients or Library staff access to, or use of the Library either during the setting up or while the display is in place
  • may create security or safety issues for Library clients or staff.

JCU Library will advise if space and preferred dates are available, and will suggest alternatives as necessary.
