Textbook Affordability Project (TAP) Grants

TAP grants are aimed at alleviating the financial burden of textbook costs on students by supporting academic stakeholders to innovate and transition to free-to-students alternatives.

JCU Library expects to offer another grant round in the first half of 2025.

  • Savings: approx. $125 each for 183 enrolled students
  • Potential student savings: $22,875.

Dr Danica Vojisavljevic and Dr Beena Suvarna $1000 Adoption of existing open educational resources (OERs) and/or Library subscribed resources:
  • To replace a first-year biomed prescribed textbook
  • Savings: approx. $95 for 466 enrolled students
  • Potential student savings: $44,270.

  • Savings: approx. $380 for 132 enrolled students
  • Potential student savings: $50,160.

  • To replace 2 first-year nursing prescribed textbooks
  • Savings: approx. $258 for 1400 enrolled students
  • Potential student savings: $361,200.
