Fines apply if an item is lost, damaged or overdue.
Fines
The following fines apply once an item becomes overdue:
Loan type | Penalty |
---|---|
General Collection | 50 cents per day to a maximum of $25.00 per item |
High Use 3 day loan | $2.00 per day to a maximum of $50.00 per item |
All materials must be returned in good condition on or before the due date or time indicated.
Items more than 4 weeks overdue (standard loans) will be deemed lost and replacement costs will be charged.
Replacement charges will apply to lost or damaged materials. The Library does not accept items purchased elsewhere as replacements for lost or damaged materials. The Library does not accept materials returned more than 12 months after the billing date.
If the lost item is returned overdue fines apply.
Library fines are not subject to GST.
The Library does not refund monies paid for lost books that are subsequently returned.
- Please note: large items and electrical equipment (such as large outdoor mats and keepads/clickers) must be returned to a member of staff before systems are shut down, 15 minutes before our services close. For example, if services close at 8.00pm, the items must be returned before 7.45pm to avoid late fines.
Please contact Library staff to discuss any difficulties before items become overdue. Exceptions may be made where evidence of illness or personal crisis can be provided.
Penalties
Borrowing privileges are suspended for non-payment of charges of $25.00 or more.
Results will be withheld until outstanding charges are resolved.
Debt Collection
The Library reserves the right to recover library materials and payment of outstanding fees.
