Cairns campus to remain closed Saturday

James Cook University’s Cairns campus will remain closed on Saturday 12th April.

The closure is due to Cyclone Ita, which is expected to cross the coast north of Cooktown later today.

The Cairns campus is closed today (Friday) and will remain closed on Sat 12th April. A decision will be made about whether the campus re-opens on Sunday 13th or Monday 14th of April.

The Cairns campus is closed because of concerns for the safety of students and staff, with the possibility of flooding in the Cairns area.

Student enquiries can be directed to the Townsville Student Centre on (07) 4781 5255 or freecall (within Australia) 1800 246 446 or email enquiries@jcu.edu.au.
