Ex-Tropical Cyclone Kirrily - Campus Notices

JCU’s Townsville campuses will reopen as per normal weekend operating hours from midday today (Saturday 27th January).

ID cards are required for access in the normal way, and both the Bebegu Yumba and CBD campuses have power. Feel free to access the campuses for charging devices. The Townsville CBD campus and the learning commons in the Library on the Bebegu Yumba campus will be accessible through swipe card access, and have air conditioning.

Please be mindful of safety walking and driving around the Bebegu Yumba campus due to the damage to vegetation. Whilst the Estate team have cleared the main paths and roads, there is still foliage across the campus. Do not park under trees where it can be avoided.

As work and study commences on Monday, please be mindful that some staff and students may still have no power at home, and many businesses and community services (such as schools and day care centres) may not yet be in full operation either, so there may be some disruptions to campus services/activities due to staffing shortfalls.

Continue to monitor email, social media and the JCU website for any updates. Monitor the JCUSafe app for any emergency notifications over the coming days.
