Majors – what are they?

A major is a specialised area of study within your course, and appears as a sub-structure in your overall study plan. When you choose a major, all its core, optional and elective components will automatically be saved to your study plan. The components of your major must be completed in order to finish your course.

For courses where you have to choose a major there may be two separate steps to take, depending on your course rules:

• Choose your type of major, e.g. Single or Double
• Choose the major itself e.g. Marine Biology or Anthropology
