If you are considering studying at another JCU location, you may be eligible to transfer campus. There are instances when a campus transfer is not required:
For Domestic students, a formal campus transfer is not required if you are changing locations between Cairns and Townsville campuses. However, you need to ensure the course and subjects required to complete your course are offered at the campus you will be attending in the future. To check which courses may be on offer to you, visit Courses and Study.
If you:
- are a new domestic student and have not yet studied any subjects, please use the change of preference form.
- are looking to study a subsequent or concurrent degree complete an Application to study at JCU form
- are seeking to study Honours, you should speak to your course coordinator.
Students with JCU Brisbane or JCU Singapore, please contact your respective Enrolment Teams to discuss changing your campus.
Steps to apply
Before completing a form check if you meet the eligibility criteria:
- Your course is offered at the other campus.
- You have no financial sanctions at your current campus.
- If you are a domestic student, you have a published result for at least one coursework subject in your current course.
- If you are an international student, you have completed:
- Under the Semester model, twelve (12) credit points of University coursework OR

If you are unsuccessful, you will remain at your current campus.
We recommend you read the Outbound Mobility Procedure which includes further information around the eligibility, assessment and outcomes of an application. In particular please note:
