Incidental & Administration Fees
For some courses, you may need to:
- purchase items, like uniforms or safety equipment
- participate in course related activities.
These compulsory purchases are an additional cost which are not covered by your tuition fees.
If you are studying a double degree, check both the relevant single degrees for additional costs.
Students in courses offered by JCU’s College of Medicine and Dentistry, College of Healthcare Sciences or College of Public Health, Medical and Veterinary Sciences who are required to undertake placements off-campus may have additional costs, such as:
- Pre-placement requirements as per the preparation checklist for each course as advised on https://www.jcu.edu.au/professional-experience-placement/preparation-checklists
- Mask fitment and masks required for specific health services or placement providers
- Vaccinations
- Travel (e.g. public transport, your vehicle expenses, parking)
- Accommodation (for rural and regional placements)
In your financial planning, it's important to consider that you may have to reduce or temporarily cease your work commitments during placements to maintain the required attendance.
You're required to maintain suitable dress standards in clinical and placement situations. You may need to budget for some items in addition to the uniform requirements for a course.
You'll need access to a reliable computer with an internet connection, webcam, headset and microphone as we conduct some health subjects using blended learning modes and deliver learning material electronically.
